my glow plug smokes when tested and doesnt light up what cause that does it mean its fried and time to get as new one ?

Usually they will smoke until the fuel burn's off if it's wet. If it doesn't light and only smoke's you could have a weak ignitor battery, bad ignitor connection, or bad glow plug. Sometime's the fuel will make a contact on a bad glow plug and when the fuel burn's off (smokes) the connection is lost.

it started before but the other day i couldnt get it to go its brand new battery in the ignitor
